In addition to regular Sunday events, there are a variety of opportunities to join in fellowship with others. Several small groups meet during the week, focusing on young adult fellowship, women’s issues, and those who join in the ministry of the choir. If you are interested in joining any of the group described below, you can contact the church office or the appropriate group leader for more details.
We have a growing choir and an ambitious music program.
The choir meets every Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the church sanctuary to rehearse for Sunday services and upcoming special events. The choir takes a sabbatical during the summer.
We pride ourselves on the diversity of our music program, which includes Classical, Traditional, Contemporary, and Gospel music.
New choir members are always welcome. We especially need basses. Contact Music Director, Ken Williamson for more details.
We have a growing group of Young Professionals who are part of the fellowship at Washington Plaza.
This group meets together on the 4th Sunday of each month for some type of social, service or spiritual activity.
Events in the past have included bowling, a movie night at a member’s home, a fabulous Christmas party, and a night at Wolf Trap.
If you are interested in getting together with us, we love to meet new friends!
A couple of years ago a group of ladies began getting together as they wanted an opportunity to share in fellowship with one another outside of the Sunday activities. Since then, this group has been meeting regularly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 6 pm. Sometimes their meetings are at church, sometimes at a member’s home or somewhere else.
If you come to a meeting what might you expect? Sharing of life stories, book club discussions, shared meals and more!
It’s a great opportunity for women to connect and find encouragement from one another.
If you are interested in learning more about the next group meeting, email Leomia Brunson or Janet Rickert.
